  • Tissue Hypoxia and Breakdown: The surrounding skin becomes fibrotic, tight, and starves for oxygen. Under this intense pressure, even minor skin trauma causes the fragile tissue to disintegrate, creating a shallow, painful, and heavily draining venous ulcer.
